The Butterfly Effect (4/7/12)

Postby TracerBullet » Sat Apr 07, 2012 9:06 pm

All I can say is that I've never actually finished the second half of Earthbound and this comic reminded me of that. Maybe one of you forumites can back me up here and put down something more substantial.

Also, can't say I've ever quite run into the problem that Bear described in "Bunny vs. Ogre." Though the closest I've come was one time where I had one of those "Passport" portable hard drives and put it in my backpack. Then later when I took it out to use it I heard the "click of death." At least there were no immediate files I needed from that thing, but it taught me the value of buying a protective case for my next one. It hasn't stopped me from absent-mindedly losing flash drives though. That's probably impossible.

I've never played the game but I can say this: Poor, poor butterfly.

And OH MY! Bear, when did you get fire powers!?

This comic makes too much sense at times.

This is one of those times.

HAAAAAAAAAA!! *cough* I can't...too perfect. Reminds me of my current playthrough as I'm chasing those sons of bitches down yelling "Gimme some'ah dat shit!" 'Course I was always thinking of the standard joke of eating them...this, though...this is hilarious. I have no choice: this is what I'll be thinking of every time now.

Never played Earthbound myself but I have watched it played a fair amount. You do wonder how things work in games sometimes. Like did those monster's I just killed have a wallet stuffed with cash and a backpack full of potions? Funny, as usual. Now if you'll excuse me I need to go score some butterfly.

I think about random stuff like that all the time! Like... why did this monster I just killed have money on it? Do they have their own towns and shops that we just don't know about? Or do they keep it just for the shinies?

Definitely the shiny factor, Farore.

What gets me about this is the fact that you'd be running back and forth to try to get something to spawn that helps you relax... Seems kind of counterintuitive, no? xD
