*Foaming at the mouth* GRRAAAHH WHY DIDN'T THAT GAME COME OOOVVEEEERRR!!!
*ahem* Anyway, I played SD3 on emulator. I never beat it, because at the time the translation wasn't complete and...well, I downloaded a TON of games back then, and I switched between them with my video game ADD. Regardless of never having beat it: I LOVED IT. I mean it seriously improved on everything - EVERYTHING. The graphics, the fighting, the story, and of course the overall additions when compared to the last one (which I already loved). I didn't get far enough for the character class thing, so it's amazing they added so much even beyond the already unique ability to choose your three characters AND get a different start based on who was out front. They had just put so much work into that game...I am consistently amazed that it never came over here. In any capacity. I mean like, what about now? Why is no one doing anything with this? People need to play this! AHHHHH!!
*wipes away foam* So yeah, even though I haven't even played this game all the way through, you can see how strongly I feel. Only a little bit of play will show just about anyone how uniquely awesome it was. Boggles the mind how that one slipped through the cracks. The SNES was already full of so much awesome that I think it could have handled SD3 (and Terranigma, while we're on the subject).
Oh...and yeah, it always confused me that Mimics were just supposed to turn into regular chests afterward! When I first ran into them I'd try to hit 'em again to make sure, but it would just open. Yay, guts! I mean, if you're starving out in the wilderness I suppose you've got some good meat there. I wonder how you clean and gut a Mimic? And HEY....is that where treasure chests COME from? Maybe they're all just Mimic skeletons...
