Over time in a relationship, you begin to learn about the little quirks that make your mate tick. One such quirk that Pie has learned from me is that I am very cautious when it comes to food. If it has the slightest hint of being past its prime, I will usually toss it with little hesitation. I mean, why risk eating food that might be spoiled if it could make you very sick? Of course, Pie hates wasting food, so that usually means that she ends up eating through food that I've deemed "not safe enough". Luckily, she has never gotten sick eating food I turn a paranoid eye toward.

Recently, I had made some tuna for us and the batch smelled...a little fishy. "But Bear, tuna is supposed to smell like fish. ITS FISH!" Yes, I would say to you...but for whatever reason when I was making the tuna, I thought...wow...this smells pretty fishy. Like, abnormally so. Like 200% fish. And that is just added percentage points I simply do not need. So I decided against my better (?) judgment to go ahead and eat it.

Pie thought I was being over dramatic when I mentioned "Just watch, by tomorrow I'll be bent over feeling like that alien bursting through that guy's stomach". Sharp to twist what I meant into something different, she quips: "You mean you'll feel like the alien, right?" We got a good laugh at the idea and thus this week's comic was born.

This weekend we are going to see The Secret World of Arrietty and Pie and I are pretty stoked to go see a new Ghibli movie in theaters. I'll never forget how much of an impression Princess Mononoke made on me seeing it in a small independent theater in Los Angeles. I've never been around such an awesome audience; everyone there was huge fans that were cheering and reacting together at scenes in the movie, making it that much cooler. I miss that feeling; the sensation of being part of a communal experience and sharing something you are passionate about with people you may not even know.

Bear recently beat Final Fantasy 13 and I'm surprisingly rather pleased with the game. =) I generally kinda have a sour spot in my heart for Final Fantasy games nowadays; I'm not sure of the feeling's origin, but I used to be a rather hardcore FF fan when I was younger. '_' It's kind of a shame that so many people seem to view FF13 in a seemingly bad light; I can't help to think that a part of it may be simply due to influence by popular word of mouth of it being linear, not having towns, and other things. =/

It's kind of funny but I really liked the ending of FF13 even though I'm not quite sure what exactly happened. XD I understand the conclusion, but am not so sure about the events that happened after you beat the final boss that led up to it. o_< All I know is that the ending left me with a genuine happy feeling in my chest. XD I was hoping the "clear game save file" datalog (a compilation of game events and world information) would enlighten me but alas, it does not. I guess it will just be one of those mysteries we'll never know the answer to. XD It reminds me of something my high school friends and I used to joke about that goes something like- "I don't get it, thus it is brilliant!" haha

I hope you guys like the follow up bonus comic to this week's comic. XD Sorry about it being super simple and colorless, but Bear and I just wanted to show a little bit of what was going through Bear's head as I was touching up the main comic. We laughed and thought it would be something fun to share with you guys. =)
