When Pie and I were playing Persona 4, we ended up romancing Yukiko and afterwards it always felt like a waste to spend time with her. It would be just something along the lines of "You had a nice evening spending time with your girlfriend Yukiko". There wasn't any real substance outside of major events, and of course that's to be expected given how resource intensive it would be to make a sustained relationship continue to develop in a more horizontal way...I mean...as far as PROGRESSION not... *ahem* >.> Nevermind!!!

Anyways, invariably we would drop her like a bad habit and pursue other social links because, hey, I need narrative, and social links, and I'm GOING to get it. I figure that a not insignificant amount of Persona players would maximize a social link with someone and just move on. One of the things that I really love, then, is that Persona 5 did a much better job with building on connections after you've gone through their main story. There are unique and varied locations that you can take a partner to, romantic or otherwise, all with their own dialogue and even chances at running into other characters. It just adds so much depth and really feels more like a real relationship and makes me feel even closer to our new waifu, Ann. Oh yea, I know a bunch of you like Makoto, but Ann is where it's AT! UNF~!
