I recently quit raiding in Final Fantasy 14; I was on the fence about it for maybe a month. It was a really tough decision for me because it's pretty much the only reliable social time I have in my life and I tend to start feeling really lonely after I've stopped raiding for a while. It made me pretty sad to leave my group, but I think it was just the right time for me and, in the end, I'm actually feeling pretty happy about doing it. I've been having more of a sense of freedom during my weekly schedule and have actually been feeling less anxious about not having enough time to get other obligations done. ^^

A strange addition too is that I've actually been getting back into enjoying the game again -not that I didn't enjoy the game before, but almost everything I did when I raided was for the sake of gearing up for making progress in raiding. Now, I just kinda hop on once in a while and casually pursue light goals a little bit at a time. =) I guess it's kinda like the idea of stopping and taking a break to sit and stare at trees or enjoy the light sound of falling rain. I admit that I still feel a little sad at times about leaving the raid team but I think this is just something I needed, even though I didn't know it at first.
