Hi Everyone! I'm a bit worried about how many of you will actually understand this comic since it's based off of the Persona series (mainly Persona 3), which I think is rather niche. '_' Persona 3 Portable, a port/reworking of a 2007 best seller Playstation2 game just came out for the PSP recently in the United States. One of the major changes to the game is the option to choose for your main hero's gender to be female. There's a system in the game called "Social Links" that evaluates the relationship your hero has with other in-game characters. You establish stronger bonds with other characters as you spend more time with them and in doing so, you are given stronger abilities for when your hero battles. The comic concept we did is due to the Social Link system being compared to that of a "dating simulator" by many gamers and one of the new social links in the PSP game being with your dog companion. XD

I was actually thinking about the concept to this comic for a while. I was doing some image searches for Persona 3 a couple weeks ago and came across some high res pictures of the American Box art. I really love the Persona artist's work; seeing some of his recent work drove me to do more image searches. XD The more I looked, the more I craved to play Persona 3. >.< I played a bit of the Playstation 2 version of the game, but never got around to getting very far. Bear and I started playing Persona 4 when it first came out December 2008 and we were hooked straight away! XD I think we played all day every day for a week or two! I love that game sooo much!! >.< I really want to go back and finish it! I've been really craving to play Persona 3 on PSP lately, I think one of the major draws being able to choose a female hero, which rarely ever happens in RPG's unless you're playing an MMO. '_' *sigh* -another game to add to my want list... >_> Maybe I'll get around to playing the Ace Attorney games too... *double sigh* >.<

It's been really fun and exciting drawing console game characters; All I've been drawing for the past year or more before doing Life in Aggro was Ragnarok Online fan art. This was a welcome change! Whenever we have a comic for which I have to draw characters to games I've played in the past, it always makes me want to go back and play those games again! XD There are soooo many great old console games out there! >.<

Well, today’s comic comes to you today courtesy of Pie! She ended up having the idea for this comic, as she has been in a Persona mood lately. I never got around to playing Persona 3 before (which this comic is based off of), but I do have experience with the series. I own the first and second games on the Playstation and I played a bit of the 1st game; but I found that I couldn’t get into it. When the second game came out, I was in love with the art style and general feel of the game, but I never got around to it.

The third installment always looked intriguing to me, but it was another game I couldn’t find the time to get around playing. When we got Persona 4, Pie and I ended up playing quite a bit of it (but never finshed). I must say, Persona 4 was an amazing game from what I played; even without finishing it, I can already say it ranks VERY high on my favorite RPG list. Excellent visuals, intriguing story, wonderful music and great pacing. Overall, an amazing experience – if you have a PS2 or 3 and are a fan of RPGs, this game deserves to be in your collection.

Next week we hope to bring a few surprises along with the comic! Also, somewhere on the site is a link to our not suitable for work (NSFW) version for those that can handle that sort of thing. We debated posting the uncensored version as-is, but we want people to feel comfortable reading the comic in a work environment, so we buried the link somewhere for those curious. See you guys next Friday and enjoy the weekend! Thanks and enjoy!
