Children Syndrome

Have you ever had a game strike such a resounding chord with you that you start to nearly hyperventilate at the mere knowledge that something of such magnificence exists in the same universe as you? If so, then good; we can relate and be friends. For me, that game is currently Crypt of the NecroDancer. It may be known that I get overly, and some may say too easily, excited for certain games. While this may be true, I couldn't very well be a combustibear if that weren't the case, right?

Now, before I continue, go watch the trailer if you haven't done so already, I'll wait. Even if it takes you hours to come back because you had to go play, I understand.

Anyways, when I found out about CotND this week, I almost started to get angry that I hadn't heard about it until a day before its Steam early access release. Like, what the crap gaming news sites?! How are you not covering this game all hours of all days? And that was my reaction before playing it! Now I shall sit in the dark corner, bottle of Jack in one hand and shattered faith in humanity in the other, quietly contemplating what it means to live in a world where brilliance isn't celebrated nearly as much as it should be. Ah, but I digress.

I know there are a staggering amount of stellar indie games and CotND just happens to scratch my very particular itch. Catchy music? Novel concept? Dancing sprites? Singing shopkeeper? All this wrapped into an addicting roguelike that forces you to think on your feet and stay with the beat? ALL CHECK! Pie and I have clocked in nearly 20 hours already; this game is just so incredibly addicting!!
